This is a single 12x12 scrapbook page I just finished.  I enjoyed doing this a lot ... being that I never get to make girly layouts since I have a son!  LOL!  This was a treat for me!  :)

Christmas Paper Piecing Layout

This was my first attempt at paper piecing ... and let me tell you ... this was a very nice challenge for me!  Since it was my first time at doing this, I was pretty slow ... but I had quite a bit of fun!

I bought this CD Christmas Paper Piecing pack from Crafty Cat 957.  Her piecings are absolutely adorable!!!

I've used lots and lots of glitter for "snow".  LOL!

Crafting Life's Pieces Sketch Callenge #7

Clear Plastic Hot Coco Gurlee Girl

Here's my card for Crafting Life's Pieces #6!  Chelsea created another gorgeous sketch to play with ... so delightful!  And I made another clear plastic card since the last one was fun.  This was my first time playing with a Gurlee Girl Stamp ... oooooh they're soooo pretty.  I looooove them!

Okay, here's my card with the background coming through to the front.  I know you can't really see it, but I put glitter around the image, so when you hold her to a certain light, she really reflects a glow.

And then here's the inside.

Hilda in the Snow

Here's my card for Chelsea's Sketch Challenge #5 which was so much fun to do again!  I so enjoy playing over at Crafting Life's Pieces ... the company there is delightful!  And Chelsea is just soooo inspirational!

For this card, I used Hilda from Motivet Stamps, lots of glitter (paper and stickles), and Prima flowers. 

I'm also happy to also post that I recieved Chelsea's prize in the mail yesterday!  Ooooo, everything in there is soooo pretty! I love my Gurlee Girl stamps so very very much and I'm excited to use them!

My First Sketch Challenge Prize!

Words cannot describe how I feel right now.  I am so elated that I've won Chelsea's first Challenge Contest Prize!  I never thought in a million years that I'd win, but I entered for the sheer fun of it and for me to learn as I played along.  I will never forget this!!!

AMAZING and such a total SWEETHEART.

And don't forget to play along in her weekly challenges!!  It's sooooo exciting and tons of fun!  I'm slowly learning to think outside my norm with her sketches, and have played along with wonderful and talented company and learned from them as well!  Everyone is completely fab-u-lous!

Clear Plastic Christmas Card

Well, this is my 4th sketch challenge for Crafting Life's Pieces.  This one kicked my butt!!!  I just could not figure out how to put all of this together and it come out looking proper.  LOL.  I stared at the sketch for quite awhile and I was thinking, "How am I going to fit everything on here and how do i DO this?!"  I kinda felt like I was in a Harry Potter movie and someone "Stupified" me!!!

To make matters worse, I complicated things by thinking, "Hey, let's make it on a thick CLEAR PLASTIC SHEET."  And that took me more pondering ... grrrrr.  So, I've NEVER done any work on a clear sheet where someone would see the back of it. 

What I did was, I had to replicate the front of the card directly on the back of it.  Then I put the background paper that would "show" through to the front of page 1 onto page 3.  I know it should pretty easy and pretty common sense ... but for me ... LOL ... it was a toughie for a bit!  Derrr!  :)

Here's page 3 showing through to page 1.

I used Ranger stickles on the edges of the plastic.  I punched the new snowflakes border on the green paper I just bought at Michaels, and I just had to add a little silver bell dangling from the top flowers.  I know the sketch called for the dots to be at the top corner and the embellie to be at the bottom of the stamp (I rotated the sketch) ... but can you imagine if I put a dangling bell or a flower at the bottom of my image where I have the dots?  LOL ... it's not a good thing to see something dangling from this image at the bottom ... just not the right image to do that with.  LOL!

Then I just had to replicate everything on page 2.  And there's the "background" paper on page 3. 

I put Ranger stickles on Hilda's little hat also ... she's such a little cute thing.  These Motivet stamps are adorable!

I won Gurlee Girl Blog Candy! Yayyy!

Oh my Gosh!  I was one of the lucky lucky winners on Crafting Life's Pieces!  I am in total shock and I'm so freakin ecstatic!  I was one of the winners who got to choose any stamp from Chelsea's winter collection (which was sooooo hard to do since they're all fab-u-lous)!!!  I chose the girl with the cocoa mug ... she's so adorable!  And I just had to spoil myself silly and buy a stamp from Chelsea at her sweet Gurlee Girl Shop ...so I bought Cammy.  How lucky am I?
