Oh Edwin!!!

*3/8/2010 Update:  I won at Roses on Paper!!!  Yayyy!  Thank you so much to ROP and the wonderful girls there!*

Hey Friends!  I don't know about you, but I find that male cards are so hard to make.  I am soooo tempted to put flowers on there just to liven it up a bit!  lol!  I think that's why I'm going nuts over girly stamps and such ... because I have a son, and in the past, I was only doing boy scrapbooking layouts.  Then when I got back into cardmaking in Sept 2009, I went completely crazy with the girly things!  And now I try to make something boyish and I'm like, "Derrrrrr..."  lol!!!

ANYWAY, I made this card for 3 challenges listed below, but first, here's my card:

I'm entering this into:
1.  Roses on Paper :  a card for men/boys
2.  Papertake Weekly :  sketch
3.  Quixotic Paperie :  one for the boys

Ingredients:
Stamp:  Magnolia Edwin
Papers:  K&Co
Medium:  Prismacolor Pencils

If you have any suggestions on how you would have dressed up this card a bit more, please HELP me!  lol!  I would appreciate any suggestions!  :)  Thank you!!!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
xoxo...Elise

Gorgoeus card! I love the simplicity...really makes the image 'pop'! I always find it difficult embellishing men's cards too.
Thanks for joining us at Papertake Weekly!

I agree, male cards are hard to make. You are one step ahead of me with stamping up an Edwin. :) Once again, the papers are so so pretty. Right now, I'm wishing Edwin made dinner for me. I haven't touch the stove today! LOL ~Chelsea

Hiiii Elise

How are you? I hope you had a nice weekend. Your Edwin-card is gorgeous. This stamp is so cute and I am thinking now of buying it. ;-)
The punched frame looks great. Hey, have you seen what the new challenge at "In2Stamps" is? EASEL-CARDS. ;-) Do you have some in2Stamps images? If so, it would be great if you would participate.

BIG hugs and take care!

Well, I think the card looks fab-O and needs no more dressing, as that might hide your fabulous colouring and sewing and of course papers, great neutral colours and loverly LO. BUT, if you want some ideas on how to dress up a MAN card, gingham ribbon is good, try adding grommets and running hemp through them and then you could add a charm, like a spoon or a spatula, that's not totally gender-specific so it could work. Don't have any of those charms? Don't worry, you will, wink wink wink ;)
Buttons of course, love to run a little hemp through them and uhhhhh, ummmmmmmmm. You know, knots instead of bows, skip the glitter, schtuff like that.
I hope you are having a wonderful Monday!!
