Sweet Princess

Hello Friends!  I finally made something other than a card .. GASP!!!  lol!  I had bought this box full of Thank You notes shortly after Christmas, and instead of throwing the box away .. my mind was already clicking .. thinking it would be perfect for my first "different" creation!  LOL!

I had a lot of fun with this, and uhhhh .. Shirley .. you are a WONDERFUL influence on me!  hehe!  Well, a few nights ago, my dear Shirley made a card using the crinkly ribbon .. and I loved it!!  So, low and behold, I had to get myself some crinkly's and use it on this!!!  sigh .. if you all don't remember, she's the one who influenced me with her nestabilities also .. she makes my checkbook cry all the time!  LOL!  I'm kidding Shirley!!!  :)

Belles 'n Whistles Challenge Blog News

Hello Friends!  Well .. got some exciting news to share with you about our Belles 'n Whistles Challenge Blog! 

Summer has decided to allow ANY Elisabeth Bell stamp to be used for challenges.   I have copied and pasted what was mentioned on our BnW Challenge Blog so I don't mess it up.  LOL!  Here's the deets:

While we, here at BnW, will continue showcasing the gorgeous Belles 'n Whistles Stamps, you are not limited to ONLY BnW stamps. As long as Elisabeth Bell Designed it, You can use it. Whether it be one of Elisabeths Digi's, or her designs from BnW, Ladybug and Friends, SCACD, or Whiff of Joy. And yes, even some of the old Sugar Nellie - Sweet Art Ebony Girls...

Soooooo, those of you who DO use a Belles 'n Whistles image will have the opportunity to enter your name into the random drawing a 2nd time. Here is how it will work.

Enter the challenge using a Belles 'n Whistles image as you normally would, but because you used a BnW image, you can then upload your card into Belles Photo Gallery, (link is on our side bar) under the corresponding challenge catagory.

When the random number is chosen, those that are in the gallery will be included in the draw, with the exception of DT's cards... I think this will give more people a chance to win, and gives our loyal BnW stamp users an extra chance at winning.

That's not all.... The DT will be picking a Top 3 for each challenge. And you will get a badge to display proudly on your blog. However, If you've gotten the 1st spot, you will also be given a chance to be on our GDT for the following week. For instance, a top 3 is chosen at the end of this challenge. If your card was listed as #1, it is announced on Jan 31st. You will then become our GDT for Feb 14th. Fun, Right???

Thankful For You

Hey Friends!  This Monday is the start of another fun challenge over at Belles 'n Whistles challenge blog!   Our lovely and talented Anki gave us a wonderful challenge of "Anything BUT Winter!"  Yayyy!  Okay, I'm all for that!  lol!

As much as I tried to get this card done before my chemo treatment last Tuesday, I couldn't get it done.  sigh .. but I'm done now!  I felt really good today and managed to get it done tonight!  :)

Hold My Hand

Hello Friends!  Last night I found a video by Michael Jackson and Akon called "Hold My Hand".  Oh gosh, how I love this song.  I've heard it first on the radio about a year or so ago .. and they only came out with a video recently.  Okay, and I cried my BUTT off!!  It's very touching.  There is a young girl in there, and she is ill with cancer and I am assuming it is breast cancer only because of the shots of pink roses/clothing throughout the video.  But as I saw her ... it was as if I was looking at myself shortly after each chemo treatment that I undergo.  I can't describe what I feel when I see this.

And the words .. oh gosh .. I guess I get really soft listening to this song now .. because that's what I want right now.  Just to have someone hold my hand and tell me that everything will be sunny again.  :)

Well, my next treatment is tomorrow!  Only 2 more to go!  :)

A Lot To Share

Next, I want to thank Cami for presenting me with this super cool award!  Awww!  You make me feel so special!!  Thank you thank you thank you .. I so appreciate this!  I hope you will all visit Cami as she has such a beautiful blog with so many lovely projects and she's such a SWEETIE PIE!

And then, I want to thank Christina for a most wonderful surprise!  I had no idea she was pulling names from her comment section, and she surprised me with a most generous gift code for $50 to shop at Magnolia-licious!!!  OMG!  Talk about hitting off the New Year with a heart pounder!  LOL!  Thank you SO much Christina .. I truly appreciate it!  I hope you will all visit Christina as well .. her blog is also full of creativity and beauty and she is yet another SWEETIE PIE!

Last but not least, on January 3rd, we all woke up to find this outside in our backyard:

Yep!  Snow in Las Vegas!  We haven't had snow covering our backyard since 2008, so this was a very nice surprise!  Those footsteps you see in the snow?  Those are my aunt's.  She came over from Hawaii to stay with us for a couple weeks and help me .. and apparently she was out there before the rest of use woke and twirling in the snow .. in her THIN NIGHTGOWN!!!  LOL!!!  She's hilarious!  :)

Belles 'n Whistles Snowflake Challenge

Hello Friends! This week at Belles 'n Whistles Challenge Blog, we have the fun theme of using "Snowflakes" on our creations given by our super talented sister Kathy!  Thank you Kathy!!!

For this card, I'm using Snow Gear Snowbaby ... I love her!  :)  I used MME papers from last years stack .. lol .. and of course coloured my image with Prisma Colored Pencils.

And here's a little gift tag that I made for this challenge as well since this little Catch a flake Snowbaby has snowflakes gently landing on her cute little tongue!  hehe!  Yep,I made a gift tag .. something other than a card!  Yipppeee!  But hey!  Ummmm ... didn't think this one through all the way .. now where in the world do I write on it?!  LOL! 

Sometime this year ... LMAO .. I'm going to give it a try using Distress Inks that I purchased during Thanksgiving weekend.  I've always loved the looks of Distress Inks, and decided that I really wanted to try it, so I took the plunge and bought more colors.  Now .. I have to make the time to actually play with them and learn slowly.  Will it be soppy messes?  Hmmmm ... we'll find out!  LOL!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Happy New Year my lovely blogging friends!!!  May your New Year be filled with tons of love, happiness, laughter and great health!  :)

Well, since it's the first of the month, what better way to kick off the New Year of 2011 than start off with CLP'S new challenge?!!!  Yayyy!  As you know, our most mega-talented Chelsea has created another fabulous sketch for us to play with!  Thanks Chel!  And guess what?!!!  Chel's own Gurlee Girl store will be sponsoring us!  Woooohoooo!

Did ya see the new Gurlee's?!!!  Ahhhh!  I love love love them!  And I'm playing with one right now for this sketch challenge!  :)  I actually have been trying to play with my cards on the days that I feel good (which is always right before my next chemo treatment) .. so this card was done a couple of weeks ago.  Yayy!  :)

I'm using Christmas Angel Avie as a Birthday angel here.  My clear acrylic tag says "Make a Wish" ... I believe this little cutie can make any wish come true!  hehe!

Alright, let me give you a quick low-down on my show-down .. lol!  I've finished my 4th chemo treatment on Dec. 21st!!!  Wooohooo!  So, I have 2 more to go!  Each treatment gets harder .. but I'm hanging tough!  I want to Thank All of You so MUCH for being here with me .. giving me your constant support and love and encouraging words!  Your comments and emails are unbelievably uplifting!  Thank you!!

Day 13 of Belles 'n Whistles Advent Celebration!!!

Hello Friends!  I hope you all have been following along with Belles 'n Whistles Advent Calendar Celebration!  There are WONDERFUL prizes to be won EVERY SINGLE DAY by our generous Summer!!!  And I KNOW you don't want to be missing out on any of this!  :)

For my card that I'm showing today, I've used 2 stamps from The Snowbabies Collection!  For the front of my card, I used Peekaboo Snowbaby.  And for the inside, I used Snow Angel Snowbaby .. and I cut her out with a circle nestie.  Aren't they SO adorable?!!!  sigh ... I want to play in the snow SOooOOO bad!!!  And these cuties look ECSTATIC to be frolicking in the snow!!!  lol!

Belles 'n Whistles Christmas Glitter

Hi Friends!  Well, this week at Belles 'n Whistles Challenge blog, the most talented and lovely Lynda gave us a fun and super easy challenge .. "Christmas Glitter"!  Yayyy!  And you know I LOVE glitter!  I used glitter on the edges of all my papers and also on all my flowers .. can't get enough of it!  ;)

This first card was whipped up tonight .. luckily I already had the image colored and prepared from the days that I'm feeling good.  So all I did tonight was put everything else together.  :)

Now this second card is something that I had completed recently during my "good days".  This one actually is pretty special for me.  I started colouring this image all the way back in October .. and while I started colouring this .. I received the news from the doctor over the phone that I indeed had breast cancer.  I did not touch any of my crafting supplies for a long time, didn't want to even look at any of my craft things actually.

And only recently, I completed colouring her and finishing this card up.  To me, it symbolizes me completing all of my treatments that I still need to undergo .. and by golly .. it WILL be completed successfully!  :)
